The second year resident will be in charge of ICU transfers during the night. Residents will manage the first year residents by assigning patient admissions, directly supervising patient admissions and directly supervising floor calls. Residents take calls from the ED for admissions. NIGHTS: During this month during second year, residents will assume the senior role. During this month, residents will also be at our Family Health Center for eight total half-days.
Residents will also be able to perform procedures with appropriate supervision. Assigned patients will be of higher acuity than those of junior residents, typically ICU patients. They will round on their own patients and write daily progress notes. They will supervise junior residents and review their admission and orders. INPATIENT: During the second year, residents will assume a senior role on inpatient. Each resident will rotate through 2 blocks of Inpatient with our FM service, 1 block of Nights with our FM service, 1 block of Cardiology, 2 blocks of Electives, 1 block of Uro/Optho, 3 blocks of Pediatrics, 1 block Ambulatory, 1 block of Surgery/Ortho and 1 block of GYN.
